Enabling Stakeholder Participation and Applied Research in Policy Comprehension to Mainstream Climate Resilient Agro-farming Practices in National Climate Agenda
On July 19, 2024, policymakers, scientists, NGOs, and community representatives convened in Kolkata, India, for the Multistakeholder Workshop on Policy Comprehension to Mainstream Climate-Resilient Agro-Farming Practices in the Indian Sundarbans. Organized by SAFE, India, in partnership with PFRI, India, the workshop sought to bridge the gap between policy and practice in climate-resilient agriculture. Discussions revolved around agricultural policies, sustainable farming approaches, and local adaptation strategies, with stakeholders highlighting the need for collaborative governance, greater farmer participation, and integrated farming systems. The workshop concluded with a commitment to strengthening climate-adaptive agricultural solutions in the Sundarbans.
