Dr. Malancha Dey is an environmental research professional with over 17 years of experience in climate-resilient
agriculture, aquaculture, biodiversity conservation, and natural resource management. With a Ph.D. in Environmental Science from
Jadavpur University, India, her work focuses on climate change impacts on rural livelihoods, mangrove and wetland conservation,
sustainable waste management, and policy research on climate-resilient strategies through Nature-based Solutions (NbS). Currently
serving as the Director of the Progyan Foundation for Research and Innovation (PFRI), a research-driven Indian NGO, committed to
advancing sustainable solutions through science, technology, and policy advocacy, she has led projects on habitat restoration,
ecosystem-based adaptation (EbA), gender-sensitive climate resilience, and the dynamics of socio-ecological production landscapes
and seascapes (SEPLS) across India and the Asia Pacific. An adept field researcher and educator, she has published extensively,
including over 11 research papers and 5 book chapters, and has contributed to international forums and seminars on climate
adaptation, biodiversity conservation, and sustainable resource governance. Additionally, she is a certified Lead Auditor for
ISO 9001:2015, 14001:2015, and ISO 14064, and serves as a core member of the ISO/TC 207/SC 7 working group, shaping global
standards on climate change and greenhouse gas management.
