The project brings together a multidisciplinary team of accomplished professionals from selected South Asian countries, united by a shared vision to advance climate-resilient practices and sustainable environmental governance. Each team member brings critical expertise spanning climate science, environmental policy, ecological research, and community-based adaptation, ensuring a comprehensive and regionally grounded approach to the goals of the project.
The Principal Investigator, Dr. Malancha Dey, a distinguished environmental research professional from India with more than 17 years of experience in climate-resilient agriculture, aquaculture, biodiversity conservation, and natural resource management. She has helmed numerous initiatives on habitat restoration, Nature-based Solutions, gender-sensitive resilience, and policy research in socio-ecological systems across the Asia-Pacific. Her academic portfolio includes extensive publications and representation in international forums, and she also contributes to global standard-setting as a core member of the ISO/TC 207/SC 7 working group on climate and greenhouse gas management.
The rest of the team comprises highly experienced collaborators from selected South Asian countries. These members include policy economists, GIS and forestry experts, environmental policymakers, and agribusiness researchers. Collectively, their backgrounds span postdoctoral research, academic leadership, government service, and consultancy roles with global agencies. Their work has addressed deforestation, renewable energy policy, food systems sustainability, and climate finance mechanisms.
Together, this team brings not only academic rigor and applied expertise but also regional insights vital to addressing the complex socio-environmental challenges the project seeks to navigate.
